This work has been written for use by undergraduate students of mechanical engineering and related disciplines. Adapted from Hulse and Cain’s ?Structural Mechanics?， it uses the same programmed learning format which has been perfected over the course of that book’s 12-year history. The text adopts a student-centred learning approach such that students can work at their own pace and assess their own progress through the use of carefully constructed questions and graded practical problems.
